Originally established as James Sanatorium and School of Nursing in Laurinburg, NC, in 1910. The location was moved to Hamlet, NC in 1915 to serve the community around the Hamlet railroad center, and the name officially changed to Hamlet Hospital and Hamlet Hospital School of Nursing.
